This initiative, which began in 2021 when Patriann Smith, a then assistant professor in Literacy Studies at the ºÚÁÏÍø³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏCollege of Education, along with international partners, secured a $3.6 million grant from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), culminated in a RISE Caribbean Conference held at the ºÚÁÏÍø³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏPatel Center for Global Solutions in 2023.
