The MKM Poetry Library is proud to co-sponsor the Garry Fleming-Key West Literary Workshop Award with the Humanities Institute. This annual award is given to an MFA Creative Writing student in Creative Writing to attend the Key West Literary Workshops in poetry during January of each year all expenses paid. 

MFA Creative Writing students interested in applying for the award must be in good standing and submit a 5-page writing sample of poems and a 2-page statement of purpose. The statement of purpose must address the importance of poetry and community to the applicant, including work done to create poetry and community and what they hope to gain by the opportunity to create community at the Key West Literary Workshops. Applicants must apply in poetry, but do not have to be working on a strictly poetry thesis in the MFA program.
