Tampa General Hospital has been ranked the No. 1 hospital in Tampa Bay for the 10th consecutive year by U.S. News & World Report in its 2025-2026 Best Hospitals rankings. TGH also earned national Top 50 recognition in six specialties – all led or co-led by ºÚÁÏÍø³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏHealth faculty – including OB-GYN, which rose to No. 5 in the nation and remains Florida’s top-ranked program.

Farhat Azam is using artificial intelligence to help fight mosquito-borne illnesses. As a doctoral student at USF, she is helping develop a smart mosquito trap that can identify disease-carrying species and alert health officials in real time. Her work aims to protect communities from future outbreaks and save lives.

ºÚÁÏÍø³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏdoctoral student, Army veteran named 2025 Tillman Scholar

U.S. Army veteran Nathaniel Hays, a ºÚÁÏÍø³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏ doctoral student in cellular and molecular biology, has been named a 2025 Tillman Scholar by the Pat Tillman Foundation. Selected from more than 1,700 applicants, Hays is pursuing cancer research inspired by a family history of the disease.
