A new podcast from the ԹϱCollege of Marine Science (CMS) and the Department of Journalism and Digital Communications dives into oceanographic research and reveals the latest technologies scientists use to understand the ocean. Designed for ocean experts and general audiences alike, “The Rising Tides Podcast” invites oceanographers to discuss their ground-breaking research through one-on-one conversations.

“World-class research has earned our college global recognition in the marine science community,” said Tom Frazer, dean and professor at CMS. “We’re proud to partner with the Department of Journalism and Digital Communications in this effort to share our work with broader audiences. These audiences might not be familiar with our latest science but they no doubt benefit from it.”

“The Rising Tides Podcast” includes conversations between researchers at CMS and host Elliott Wiser, professor of journalism at ԹϱSt. Petersburg. Undergraduate students from the Department of Journalism and Digital Communications contributed to the podcast, assisting in production and marketing roles.

"We are excited to be producing this podcast, which highlights the ground-breaking research taking place at the College of Marine Science,” said Wiser. “Also, it is an excellent learning opportunity for our students who are helping to produce this podcast.”
